TASER International Receives Two New Law Enforcement Orders; Los Angeles Port Police Department and Doral Police Department Purchase TASER Devices

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 28, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices, today announced that it received two large orders from law enforcement agencies. The first order was received from the Los Angeles Port Police, in San Pedro, CA, for 180 TASER(r) X26(tm) Electronic Control Devices (ECDs). The second order was received from the Doral Police Department in Doral, FL, for 100 TASER(r) X26(tm) ECDs, plus 100 TASER CAM(tm) audio/visual recording systems and related accessories.

"We are pleased to receive these two new orders from the Los Angeles Port Police and the Doral Police Department," commented Tom Smith, Chairman and Founder of TASER International. "These orders are for two new clients to provide TASER(r) programs to protect life. In the case of the Doral Police Department, we are pleased to see the additional purchase of TASER CAM systems to enhance community and law enforcement accountability. Recently, the TASER CAM system proved invaluable in terms of providing key evidence in a police shooting in California," concluded Smith.

Last week, two Siskiyou County Sheriff's deputies were cleared in a July 2007 police shooting. The TASER CAM system's video was reviewed by the Siskiyou County District Attorney Kirk Andrus who said the "most compelling evidence" in his report was the digital and audio footage.

"We wanted the ability to document all deployments and ensure that the officers in the field had the best equipment possible," said Doral Police Chief Ricardo Gomez. "After reviewing all available data, including the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's overview on Electronic Control Devices, we concluded that TASER's X26 (ECD) was best suited for our needs now and for the foreseeable future."

These orders were received and are expected to ship in the First Quarter of 2008.
