Employees to Receive Bonus Again in 2007 

SolarWorld AG again gives its employees in Germany a share in the profit of
the group in fiscal year 2007. The employees at the locations in Freiberg
and Bonn will receive a bonus on top of their annual salary with which the
company rewards the work done in the previous year. For their dedication
and their commitment to reach the sales and earnings targets of the group a
bonus of between 10 and 30 per cent of the annual remuneration will be
distributed. An employee in wafer production, for example, will thus
receive an annual bonus of 7,200 EUR. The basis for this bonus distribution
is the profit-oriented employee participation model (or GOMAB) of the solar
technology group that was first introduced in Freiberg in the year 2003.

'We are among the pioneers of employee profit sharing in Germany', says
Dipl.-Ing. Frank H. Asbeck, Chairman and CEO of SolarWorld AG. 'As the
success of our company is essentially based on the performance of our
employees it is only consistent to allow colleagues to participate in our
economic success. That strengthens employee motivation and identification.
GOMAB is our central tool for employee retention', Frank Asbeck points out
at the same time that there is no automatic mechanism involved in the
profit sharing scheme. 'It is essential that our employees strive for ever
more efficiency, quality and cost consciousness. Only then can we further
expand our competitive position.'

The GOMAB bonus distribution rates depend on the performance of the group
company that the employees work for as well as that of the overall group.
The central benchmarks by which we measure performance are the return on
sales and return on equity.
