Followers of the Holy Books -- New Book Discusses How Harmony Can be Realized Between Jews, Christians, and Muslims

GLENMONT, N.Y., March 12, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- While distrust -- sometimes escalating to warfare -- has existed historically between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, it is a source of hope to point out that all three religions have shared roots and recognize a common patriarch, namely Prophet Abraham. There are even more shared features between the three that, if emphasized instead of the differences, can be a blueprint for world peace.

In Imam Warith-Deen Umar's enlightening book Jews for Salaam: The Straight Path to Global Peace, readers are introduced to Abdullah Ben Salaam, a little known Jewish leader in Arabia at the time of the Prophet Muhammad. It is notable that back then, model Jews of Arabia embraced Messenger Muhammad, the last Prophet. This book focuses on the unique position the Jewish people are in since, if such an open attitude can be cultivated again among modern Jews, Christians, and Muslims, then the world can move toward peace.

Carefully researched, the author presents this vital history relying on the Bible, Talmud, Qur'an, and Hadith to make the case for Jews for Salaam. For anybody interested -- whether the academic scholar, government policy-maker, or ordinary citizen -- in a solution to removing tensions between world religions, then this is a book you should definitely read!
