Georges Marciano Seeks Information From Christie's; 600 Pieces of Art Missing From His Collection

ADVISORY, March 14, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- WHAT: Key motions will be heard on Monday, March 17, 2008 that could substantially affect George Marciano's current lawsuit in front of the Honorable Judge White.

During the hearing on Monday, where Mr. Marciano will represent himself, Marciano will ask for the court's help in obtaining copies of documents that he has requested for two years from Christie's Auction House in New York. These will be essential evidence in uncovering what is believed to be a massive misappropriation of more than 600 pieces of art, including original paintings by Indiana, Rauschenberg, and Ruscha; monumental sculptures, including Chamberlain and Miro sculptures; prints, including Warhol, Chagall, Indiana, Dine, Jasper Jones and more; a wine collection of over 26,900 bottles, including Petrus, Margaux, Lafitte, Yquiem, and Cheval Blanc Vintage from the 1970's to 2000, and sales proceeds.

This missing art is believed by Mr. Marciano to be the largest misappropriation of art in California and perhaps United States history. Georges Marciano hopes that the American judicial system will provide the justice that has so far been denied to him by Christie's and shipping companies. The misappropriation has cost Mr. Marciano millions of dollars.
