ahead of schedule for a five-year period

- Appointment as Deputy Chairman
- Michael Ernst to leave Pfleiderer’s Executive Board for personal  reasons
at the end of January 2009

Neumarkt, March 19, 2008 – The Supervisory Board of Pfleiderer AG, ISIN
DE0006764749, which is listed in the MDAX, has extended the appointment of
Dr. Robert Hopperdietzel (42) to the Executive Board ahead of schedule for
a five-year period effective March 19, 2008. At the same time, 
Dr. Hopperdietzel has also been appointed Deputy Chairman of Pfleiderer
AG’s Executive Board.

Dr. Hopperdietzel has been a member of Pfleiderer AG’s Executive Board
since September 2006 and is responsible for the Technology and
Operations/Plants functions and the Eastern Europe region. Since he joined
the Company, Dr. Hopperdietzel has sustainably improved the technical
efficiency of Pfleiderer’s plants by introducing a global production system
and systematically continued the Company’s expansion in Eastern Europe.

Michael Ernst (59), who has been a member of the Pfleiderer AG’s Executive
Board since 2000, has decided to leave the Company at the end of January
2009 for personal reasons under the terms of his contract when his current
appointment to the Executive Board expires. Michael Ernst is responsible
for the Human Resource, Legal Affairs, IT, and Organization functions.
