STI to Present At IWPC-Sponsored Conference March 27, 2008


SANTA BARBARA, Calif., March 24, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Superconductor Technologies Inc. Hammond, chief technical officer and senior vice president, is scheduled to present at the International Wireless Industry Consortium (IWPC) Technology Exchange Forum to be held March 26-28 in Madrid, Spain.

The forum is titled "Extending the Life of GSM/EDGE Networks" and it will explore the carriers' options to either extend the life, increase capacity and data rates of GSM/EDGE networks, or to move forward with next generation systems, including the technical and business options. The forum will also explore the availability of technologies to meet these needs -- especially in terms of lowering carriers' operating expenses and capital expenditures in these highly competitive markets.
