Grandfathers Can Still Make a Difference and Help Grandchildren -- New Book Was Inspired by the Author's Close Encounter With the Holy Spirit

CANON CITY, Colo., March 28, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- For many years, author Merle L. Lord has entertained his sons and grandsons on their annual fishing trip to Walden, Colorado. On one fateful night in August 2002, a bright light shined brightly inside their motel room which woke him up. It turned out to be the Holy Spirit and soon enough they talk about the important duties that grandfathers must fulfill to save the youth. This encounter with the Almighty inspired Lord to publish his new book Grandfathers Gifts, through Xlibris.

Filled with inspirational and touching words, Grandfathers Gifts marks Lord's effort to encourage grandfathers like him to save their grandchildren from moral decay before it is too late. It offers readers, especially the youth and their grandfathers, insightful discussions about analyzing your potential, mentoring, establishing a legacy, making plans for the future and living your life in accordance to God's word. The book also takes into account the elements that are harming both the youth and society in general such as alcoholism, drug abuse, the breakup of families and deteriorating values. Finally, its Christian references complement the moral discussions written down.

About the Author

Merle Lord was brought to the Lord as a small child by his devoted mother and father. He has been a humble servant of the Lord ever since. He and his wife, Shirley, raised their family to serve Jesus Christ. After Merle's retirement, God spoke to him through his Bible and Devotional readings. God sent the Holy Spirit to "call" Merle to write this book because God knows that without our Grandfathers involvement with their grandchildren -- the future of Christianity could be lost.
