BDI BioDiesel International AG, which is based in Graz/Austria, is taking
over all the shares in UIC GmbH in Alzenau/Germany, one of the leading
specialists for vacuum distillation plant engineering and supply with
effect from 1. April 2008. The purchase price is an upper single-digit
million amount.
By taking over UIC and with the skills available thanks to the
strategically acquired interests in other companies, BDI is expanding its
portfolio from being a manufacturer of special plants for the biodiesel
industry to being a comprehensive supplier of industrial solutions to the
pharmaceutical, food processing and energy markets. UIC will continue to
exist as an independent company within the BDI corporate group.
