Strong Growth in its Mailstream Segment

Birkenwerder, April 2, 2008. Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG is one of the
world's leading manufacturers of franking machines and inserters, as well
as providing sorting and consolidation services, outsourcing services and
hybrid mail products. Now the company is further expanding its high-growth
mailstream business. By acquiring the customers of DirektExpress
Brief AG, a member of the Pin Group, Francotyp-Postalia is further
strengthening its position in the consolidation market. DirektExpress Brief
was formed in 2005 and has over 1,000 customers. At the last count, this
major postal service was processing some four million outgoing mails per
month.

'This is a major strategic step which will further expand the competitive
position of our affiliate freesort,' stated Dr. Heinz-Dieter Sluma,
Chairman of the Management Board of Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG. Acquired
at the end of 2006, freesort currently has ten branches spread throughout
Germany and is one of the leaders in mail consolidation for outgoing mail
in that country.

The current fiscal year got off to a very positive start for freesort.
According to provisional figures, the company processed some 41 million
letters in the first quarter of 2008. That equals a growth of 51.85% over
the fourth quarter of 2007. Taking the full fiscal year 2006, freesort
consolidated around 35 million letters. In 2007, this figure totaled 80
million.

In the last fiscal year 2007, Francotyp-Postalia increased sales in its
mailstream business by around 40% to 8.5 million euros. In 2008, too, the
company expects double-digit growth. 'We are profiting from the
liberalization of the postal markets and see great potential for the year
ahead,' confirmed Dr. Sluma.
