According to reports from WVEC.com, police in Norfolk, VA have deployed TASER(r) electronic control devices (ECD) for the last six weeks. So far officers are finding the devices to be very effective and even the mere sight of a TASER device can help bring a suspect into custody. Chris Amos, spokesman for the Norfolk Police Department said, "The assaults on officers are greatly reduced where TASER (ECD)s are introduced. The word out on the street and among the officers is that it's (TASER devices) invaluable. This will help make a hard, hard job a little bit easier," said Amos.
