Digia to establish a subsidiary in China

Digia to establish a subsidiary in China

Digia will establish a subsidiary in Chengdu, China, and intends to recruit
50-100 employees for this unit during 2008. The company is seeking to launch
its first software projects in the summer of 2008 and will open a sales office
in Beijing later this year.

Digia's expansion into Asia forms part of the company's controlled
internationalisation strategy. For Digia, expansion to the east entails both an
entry into new markets and further development of the company's present service
range to include off-shore services. These services will complement Digia's
current offering and are expected to provide new business opportunities from
the perspective of the entire Digia Group. The new services will also provide
excellent support for Digia's present customers in the Asian markets.

“Since there is major demand for off-shore services among our clientele, we
decided to meet this demand by launching operations in China. Our customers
have a genuine need for off-shore services, so we are expecting a smooth
start-up for our Chinese subsidiary from the very beginning. Furthermore, we
expect our Chinese operations to bring us new customers in the rapidly growing
Chinese markets”, said Juha Varelius, President and CEO of Digia.

Home to 11 million inhabitants, the city of Chengdu is the capital of the
Sichuan province that has more than 100 million inhabitants. Most of Digia's
Asian customers have operations in Chengdu. This, combined with the fact that
the city is home to 40 universities and colleges, provides a solid basis for
Digia's organic growth targets.
