BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - April 8, 2008) - In the newly released benchmark report "Fixed
Mobile Convergence in the Enterprise," Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks
Company (
NYSE:
HHS), found that Best-in-Class organizations that have
deployed FMC solutions have benefited from significantly higher levels of
employee performance and workflow efficiencies, all the while significantly
improving the speed of the decision making process.
The report analyzed organizations' planning, deployment, use, and
management of FMC solutions to better understand how Best-in-Class
organizations leverage these technologies across the ever-expanding global
marketplace. As part of their strategy to increase workforce flexibility,
Best-in-Class organizations employ a variety of top-down driven policy
initiatives, processes, and mobility-focused technologies such as
WiFi-enabled smartphones, WLANs and unified communications solutions. In
fact, Best-in-Class organizations invested 75% more than all other
organizations on mobility solutions. Through these investments,
Best-in-Class organizations enjoyed a 55% increase in their workforce's
mobility in the last 12 months -- more than four times all other
organizations.
"What Best-in-Class organizations realize is that the extension of the PBX
infrastructure is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the power that a
FMC solution can provide," said Philippe Winthrop, research director for
wireless and mobility, Aberdeen. "These Best-in-Class organizations are
also mobilizing their unified communications solutions to offer their
employees a full breadth of communications solutions in the palm of their
hands thereby maximizing the mobility of their workforce."
The report provides readers with findings on how Best-in-Class
organizations are leveraging fixed mobile convergence solutions as compared
to others, and recommends clear actions to improve the productivity of
their workforce, as well as the deployment and management of the FMC
solution. Additionally, the report reviews technology adoption, employee
performance, workflow efficiency, and other key performance indicators.
