Crude oil and petroleum product transshipment volumes at JSC Ventspils nafta has reached almost 4 million tons

In the first quarter of 2008, transshipment volumes at the crude oil and
petroleum products transshipment company Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd, which
is a subsidiary of the joint stock company Ventspils nafta, has already reached
3.8 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products, and that is for half
million tons more than in the first quarter of 2007. 

In the first three months of 2008, the structure of the transshipped cargos at
Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd is formed by 2.9 million tons of diesel fuel
delivered via petroleum products pipeline and by rail, 0.5 million tons of
gasoline of various grades transported by rail and 0.3 million tons of crude
oil and petroleum product cargos delivered by sea. 

The biggest transshipment amount is reached at Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd in
March - 1.36 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products. This amount
included 1.1 million tons of diesel fuel delivered via petroleum products
pipeline and rail, 0.2 million tons of motor petrol and other petroleum
products transported by rail, and 0.1 million tons - cargos transhipped from
the sea. 

Cargo amount at Ventspils nafta terminals has increased significantly since
2007, when the company resumed receiving diesel fuel from petroleum products
pipeline and started valuable cooperation with the company of international oil
and gas consortium Vitol Group, which is a co-owner of JSC Ventspils nafta and
Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta. 51% of it
belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta while 49% are owned by the Vitol company Euromin
Holdings (Cyprus) Limited. The terminal renders transit services: reception of
oil and diesel fuel via pipelines, as well as reception, storage and
transshipment of crude oil, diesel fuel, motor gasoline and other petroleum
products delivered by rail and sea. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is the largest of such companies in the region,
and its crude oil and petroleum products shore-tank farm reaches 1.2 million
cubic meters and has no analogues among similar companies in the nearest
countries.
