FINNAIR OYJ STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 10 APRIL 2008 AT 09:10 Finnair's Asian traffic, measured in passenger kilometers, grew 23.4% compared to March of the previous year. Number of passengers carried on Finnair's Asian flights in March was 107 760, which is 17.9% more than a year ago. The increased traffic on Mumbai and Delhi routes is the engine for Finnair traffic growth. RPKs in European traffic grew by 7.4% and passenger load factor decreased by 1.2 percentage points to 66.8%. Finnair traffic altogether, measured in passenger kilometers, increased by 15.0% in March, while the capacity was up by 18.2%, resulting in a passenger load factor of 76.4% or 2.2 points lower than last year. Leisure flights' passenger load factor increased by 1.3 percentage points to 89.6% compared to the previous year. Finnair transported altogether 744 216 passengers, which is 1.2% more than a year ago. Finnair scheduled traffic increased by 13.7% compared to March last year. Number of passengers carried on scheduled flights was 619 442, which is 1.5% less than in March 2007. Passenger load factor in scheduled passenger traffic was 71.8%, 3.3 percentage points lower than last year. Unit revenues, based on revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), decreased in scheduled traffic by nearly three percent. The decline was evident in March. During Easter, higher yield business travel decreases. This year Easter was in March where as last year it was in April. Finnair's Tallinn-based subsidiary Aero AS ended operations on 6 January 2008. Aero figures are respectively included in Finnair Group total figures. In July 2007 Finnair sold its Stockholm-based subsidiary airline FlyNordic and its traffic performance is no longer reported as part of Finnair Group statistics. For better comparison, equivalent figures for last year have been adjusted accordingly. Finnair's punctuality has improved compared with the first months of the year. Arrival punctuality of scheduled flights was 72.9% (based on a fifteen minute standard), 9.6 points lower than in January 2006. Including leisure flights arrival punctuality was 70.1% (-10.7 p.p). Scheduled traffic In scheduled traffic (international + domestic) revenue passenger kilometres increased by 13.7%. The change in capacity was 18.8%. Passenger load factor was 71.8%, 3.3 percentage points lower than last year. In scheduled international traffic, total number of passengers was up by 8.2%. Capacity in ASKs was 22.8%, while RPKs increased by 16.5%. In European scheduled traffic, ASKs increased by 9.4%, and as RPKs increased by 7.4%, the passenger load factor was 66.8%, down 1.2 points from previous year. In North Atlantic scheduled traffic, capacity increased by 6.7%. Change in RPKs was 7.9%, and passenger load factor for March was 87.1%, 1.0 points higher than previous year. In Asian scheduled traffic, capacity increase was 35.1%. The passenger traffic was up by 23.4%. Passenger load factor was 74.8%, 7.1 percentage points down. Domestic scheduled traffic decreased by 11.3% on a capacity decrease of 11.3%. Passenger load factor was 65.1%. Leisure traffic ASKs for leisure traffic increased in March by 16.4%, and RPKs increased by 18.0%, resulting in a passenger load factor of 89.6%, 1.3 points higher than last year. Cargo Cargo traffic increased by 15.1% in terms of cargo tonnes carried. Growth in scheduled traffic was 22.7%. Increase in Asian traffic was 38.8%. Volume in European traffic decreased by 0.2%. In North-Atlantic traffic cargo volume increased by 3.1%. Cargo traffic carried on chartered cargo flights decreased by 57.7%.
