The film stars Olivia Wilde (House, Turistas, Alpha Dog) and premiered January 18th at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah to widespread appeal. Additionally the film was a selection at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where the film's director, Tao Ruspoli, won the The Heineken Red Star Award for "the most progressive and gifted independent film director."
Indie Ranch Media worked closely with the filmmakers from script-to-screen, providing workflow consultation on all aspects of the production: from the choice of camera to designing a custom post-production workflow, which included creative editorial, up-conversion to 2K and color correction to meet the technical and creative demands of the film.
Inspired by true events, Fix is a one-day odyssey through the multitude of cultures in Los Angeles. Documentary filmmakers Bella (Olivia Wilde) and Milo (director, Tao Ruspoli) race to transfer Milo's brother, Leo (Shawn Andrews), from jail to rehab before 8 p.m. in order to avoid a three-year prison term. We follow them as they document their trip, beginning in a suburban Calabasas police station, through Beverly Hills mansions, an East LA chop shop, desert wastelands and the housing projects of Watts in an attempt to raise the $5,000 required to check Leo into rehab. Along the way, they encounter dozens of Leo's friends, each colorful and troubled characters themselves, with their unique perspectives on Leo's larger than life personality and excuses for why they cannot help him.
