About the Author

Piotr Mikhailovich Homyakov is a doctor of Technology, Professor. He was born 1950 in Moscow. His first job was as a junior geological technician. The author worked on geological and engineering survey expeditions, served in the Soviet Army and graduated from the Geographical and Mechanical Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University. From 1981, he worked within the Academy of Science system. He was dealing with problems of the stable functioning of branches of the national economy and regional administration. He took part in research on global problems. Homyakov is also author of over 80 scientific articles and 11 monographs. Since 1991, while still continuing his scientific work, he has been participating in social and political activities, journalism and political analysis. The author was an expert adviser to the RSFSR Supreme Soviet. He became a member of the Duma of the Russian National Assembly and a member of the Central Council of the National Republican Party of Russia. He was Deputy Chairman of the Congress of Russian Communities and Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the Freedom Party. He was a political adviser to General Rokhlin. He also worked as an analyst and observer for "Novosti" and "ITAR-TASS" news agencies. He has had many articles published in Russian newspapers and journals. He has also had works of fiction published in Russia.
