Nidec Motors & Actuators to Build a New Plant in Niepolomice, Poland

KYOTO, Japan, April 17, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Nidec Corporation ("Nidec") (NYSE:NJ) today announced that one of its subsidiaries, Nidec Motors & Actuators ("NMA"), will build a new plant in Poland to increase its capacity for automotive motor production.

In December 2006, Nidec acquired the Motors & Actuators business unit of a major French automotive component manufacturer, Valeo S.A., and subsequently established Nidec Motors & Actuators ("NMA"). With its Head Office based in France, NMA currently operates production plants in Germany, Spain, Poland and Mexico. Located in the country's Special Economic Zone, NMA's new Poland plant has been granted a favorable tax benefit status by the Ministry of Economy of Polish Government.
