ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., April 21, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has partnered with Com-Cycle to host an electronic equipment recycling event on Thursday, April 24 at its plant here. Company employees and the St. Augustine community are invited to bring their obsolete equipment from home for collection and processing at no charge.
The event is part of Northrop Grumman's commitment to the environment and the community.
Community members can drop off items at the collection area at the company's parking lot on the north side of the St. Augustine airport runway. Enter from US 1 North by turning east onto Gun Club Road and then right onto Hawkeye View Lane.
"Some electronics contain components and heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium or lead that can harm the environment if disposed of improperly," said Rick Matthews, vice president and site manager for Northrop Grumman's St. Augustine facility. "We decided to open this event to the public to aid the community's recycling efforts."

Major appliances, refrigerant-containing items, tires, smoke detectors or equipment with any chemicals or liquids of any kind will not be accepted.
