M.A.X. Automation AG posts the best first-quarter operating results in its
corporate history

Düsseldorf, April 23, 2008 – M.A.X. Automation AG began fiscal 2008 with
record group revenues and profits. According to preliminary figures, the
company again exceeded the already impressive results of the same period
last year.

The international automation specialist's group revenues were up 4.9% in
the first quarter of 2008, coming in at EUR 53.2 million (Q1 2007: EUR 50.7
million). As in the previous year, earnings again rose disproportionately
fast: group earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) after the first three
months of the year totaled EUR 4.0 million, a rise of 8.7% year-on-year (Q1
2007: EUR 3.7 million). Group net profit rose 10.6% to EUR 2.3 million,
following on from EUR 2.1 million in Q1 2007.

The consolidated order intake for the first three months of 2008 was up
4.1% to EUR 60.6 million, compared with EUR 58.2 million in the prior-year
period.

The Management Board is optimistic about the prospects for full fiscal
2008. Based on the existing investment portfolio, it says it will be able
to continue to boost M.A.X. Automation AG's group revenues and profits, and
post another record year for the corporation.
