Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman Announces Appointments to Business Management Organization At Its Shipbuilding Sector


NEWPORT NEWS, Va., April 25, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced two appointments within the business management organization at its Shipbuilding sector. Doug Fontaine has been appointed sector vice president and controller and Tom Johnston has been appointed sector vice president of contracts and pricing. Both will be based in Newport News, Va. and will report to Barbara Niland, chief financial officer and vice president of business management.

Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, a newly-formed sector of Northrop Grumman Corporation, is made up of the former Northrop Grumman Ship Systems and Newport News shipbuilding entities.

Johnston will have overall sector responsibility for contracts, pricing and export/import licensing and compliance. Fontaine will be responsible for accounting; financial planning and reporting; overhead budgets and rates; and earned value reporting for the sector.

Johnston earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Towson University and has held a number of increasingly responsible positions in contracts, finance and business management at Lockheed Martin before joining Northrop Grumman in 2003 as vice president of contracts and pricing, for the former Newport News sector.

Fontaine is a certified public accountant with a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Mississippi, complemented by extensive coursework in accounting at the University of South Alabama. He joined the company in 1988 as a financial analyst with the former Ingalls Shipbuilding and has held a number of increasingly responsible positions in business management. He most recently served as vice president and business manager, responsible for the pricing and estimating organization as well as the business manager for the operations, engineering and quality assurance and process improvement organizations.
