'The takeover of the courier service, ASM, is a typical ARQUES transaction: symbolic purchase price, high restructuring and exit potential. In addition, the takeover proves that ARQUES has established itself in Spain as a business partner of conglomerates regarding spin-offs of subsidiaries no longer belonging to the core business. The acquisition pipeline is well filled and we are expecting to announce further transactions shortly', said ARQUES chairman of the executive board, Dr. Michael Schumann. The takeover is the first of a total of 10 to 15 acquisitions planned for 2008. In addition, ARQUES wants to sell between 5 and 7 successfully restructured subsidiaries in the current year.
