PÖYRY AWARDED OWNER'S ENGINEERING CONTRACT FOR COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT PROJECT IN VIETNAM


Pöyry has been awarded an owner's engineering services contract for a new 750 MW combined cycle power plant in Vietnam by PetroVietnam Nhon Trach 2 Power JS Company. The value of the assignment is about EUR 3.8 million.
 
Pöyry's assignment includes review and updating of EPC bidding documents, bidding and bid evaluation, contract negotiations, EPCM services (engineering, procurement, construction management), site supervision and field services, as well as transfer of know-how and training activities.
 
The project is located in the Phuoc Khanh Commune, Nhon Trach District, about 60 km south of Ho Chi Minh City. The design capacity will be achieved by construction of a power block comprising two gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators, one steam turbine and all necessary ancillary plants and equipment. The plant will serve the Nhon Trach Industrial Park and connect to the Vietnamese national power grid through a 220 kV transmission line. The estimated schedule for commercial operation is by end of 2010.
