SWECO acquires Danish architectural firm

SWECO has grown in Denmark through the acquisition of the architectural firm
Birk Nielsen Planlæggere og Landskabsarkitekter with 18 employees.


“This has enabled us to further strengthen our position in the Nordic market,
not least in the interesting Öresund region which offers many exciting
challenges for us,” says Jan Mattsson, President of SWECO FFNS.

SWECO' Danish subsidiary Skaarup & Jespersen is the actual acquirer of Birk
Nielsen.  Skaarup & Jespersen has been part of the SWECO Group since 2001 and
has longstanding experience of assignments in both architecture and urban
planning. Birk Nielsen is specialised in landscape architecture, urban planning
and wind power. Through the acquisition, SWECO will gain an additional office in
Aarhus, Denmark.

The acquisition will increase SWECO's number of employees in Denmark to around
55.
