What: Brian Greene and Tracy Day, Co-Founders of the World Science Festival, and actor Alan Alda will preside over the Closing Bell in Times Square to proclaim New York City as a global capital of science. The World Science Festival, which will take place from May 29 to June 1, comprises 40 public events over four days throughout New York City, all intended to shine a bright light on science. More than a dozen Nobel Laureates will participate. The Festival is designed to highlight the role of science in our daily lives, underscore New York City's role as a global capital of science (as much as it is a capital of publishing, finance, the arts, and cuisine), and offer serious science education for everyone from elementary school children to adults.
