New TASER Controlled Digital Power Magazine Announced at the American Jail Association Tradeshow

Incorporates Revolutionary Technology for Officers Working in Close Range to Subjects

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., May 5, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices, today announced the new lanyard controlled TASER(r) Controlled Digital Power Magazine (CDPM) at the American Jail Association (AJA) Conference in Sacramento, California. TASER International is exhibiting during the conference in booth #510 on May 5-6 during 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. PDT at the Sacramento Convention Center.

"The TASER CDPM is the next generation in officer safety tools," said Tom Smith, Chairman of TASER International, Inc. "We founded TASER International to create safer use-of-force alternatives, while utilizing technologies to maximize safety and minimize the potential for misuse - and the TASER CDPM continues in that tradition."

The TASER CDPM is the first device to incorporate a revolutionary new forceful disconnect feature that acts as a shut off switch for the TASER device by digitally interfacing the CDPM with the TASER X26 Electronic Control Device (ECD). If a suspect were to take a TASER X26 ECD with a TASER CDPM from an officer, the CDPM would immediately deactivate the TASER X26 to prevent it from use by an inmate or a suspect. The TASER X26 would then require an activation security code to re-activate the device for future use.

"Our advanced security re-activation code is an innovative design to ensure that our TASER devices are properly used for correctional and law enforcement officers," added Smith. The TASER CDPM was originally designed for correctional officers, but can be used by other agencies who are concerned about weapon retention.

The TASER CDPM will feature adaptable retention options for the officer and be fully compatible with current tools that are being used in the field today. It will also have added grip features for comfort and disconnect protection. The CDPM system can be used with any existing TASER X26 ECD and requires no tools. This unique system will be available in the third quarter of 2008. Pricing has not been determined.
