Nurturing Youth for a Better Tomorrow -- New Book Contains Inspiring Articles and Discussions That Deal With Youth and Their Leadership in Congregations

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 13, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Preparing young people to provide leadership for a better world is always a major challenge for congregations. In almost every congregation, there is at least one searching youth who is somehow different from the rest, one who thinks more deeply, asks more questions, and wants to make a difference in the world. How should he or she be guided? Find out by reading Loving God, Loving Neighbor, a compelling new book edited by Sondra Higgins Matthaei.

Loving God, Loving Neighbor is a collection of thoughtful chapters by Saint Paul School of Theology faculty members who explore ministry with searching youth through diverse perspectives such as worship, evangelism and pastoral care plus ministry designs from seminary students. This book encourages readers to engage in a ministry with youth that addresses their desire to make a difference in the world and invites youth to provide significant leadership in congregations by sharing gifts. This book was written as a comprehensive guide for pastors, teachers, and youth leaders who work with them. Aside from that, the text emphasizes that youth can be nurtured in their role as God-loving disciples by caring congregations.
