Sponda Plc Stock Exchange Release 13 May 2008 at 15:05 Sponda plans Ratina shopping centre in the centre of Tampere Real estate company Sponda today signed an agreement with the City of Tampere to build the Ratina shopping centre. As part of the agreement Sponda is buying from the City of Tampere the piece of land for the shopping centre and the property on the Autotuonti block. The total investment in the shopping centre is estimated at some EUR 200 million. The plans are for the Ratina shopping centre to have 55,000 square metres of attractive retail and service premises, as well as parking for 1,350 cars. The shopping centre will be located between the stadium and the bus station in the centre of Tampere, and is designed to fit in with the surrounding functional style buildings. The shopping centre will strengthen the service offering in the centre of Tampere, and the central location and extensive offering are expected to attract customers from throughout the Tampere region. On completion, the shopping centre will offer people living in the area not only a wide range of shopping services for consumer goods and specialty goods but also well-being and restaurant services. The City of Tampere has in addition reserved for Sponda the property on the Vuoltsu block close to the shopping centre and the adjacent piece of land that is planned for office building. Sponda aims to link the Autotuonti block in the agreement and the reserved Vuoltsu block with the Ratina shopping centre. It is hoped to start construction of the shopping centre this year.
