(Lysaker, 19 May 2008) Gazprom signs up to trade carbon products at Nord Pool and becomes the 130th member in the carbon market. Gazprom is the world's largest gas company basically focused on geological exploration, production, transmission, storage, processing and marketing of gas and other hydrocarbons. Gazprom's share in the global and Russian gas production is nearly 20 and 85 per cent, respectively. Keith Martin, director of front office operations at Gazprom Marketing & Trading, the 100% owned subsidiary of OAO Gazprom, said: “We have built multi-commodity trading capability and now trade globally in products such as gas, power, LNG and carbon.
