Atria's collective redundancy consultation completed                            

The collective redundancy consultation initiated by Atria on 31 March 2008 in   
order to reorganise Finnish operations has been completed. Atria estimated at   
the time of commencing the consultation procedure that the reorganisation would 
mean a reduction of some 170 in the number of personnel. The measures are       
expected to generate annual cost savings of approximately EUR 4 million.        
                                                                                
The negotiations related to the restructuring of Atria's Forssa production      
plant, in Liha-Pouttu Oy's industrial and purchasing operations, as well as in  
the operations of A-Farmers Ltd and A-Rehu Oy.                                  

The operations in Kannus will be closed down and bovine slaughtering and cutting
will be transferred from Kannus to Atria's Kauhajoki and Kuopio production      
plants. Pig slaughtering and cutting will be transferred to Atria's Nurmo plant.
The number of personnel in Kannus will be reduced by 99 of which 11 people will 
be transferred to work in Atria's other production plants.                      

In addition, Liha-Pouttu Oy's meat procurement operations and A-Farmers Ltd's   
operations will be merged. In these operations, the number of personnel will be 
reduced by 19 people.                                                           

The logistics and meat product manufacturing operations of Atria's Forssa       
production plant will be transferred to Nurmo. Some convenience food and meal   
production will remain in Forssa. The number of personnel in Forssa will be     
reduced by 66 people of which one people will be transferred to work in other   
production plants.                                                              

The negotiations concluded to reduce the number of employees by a total of 184. 
A total of 15 people transferred to work at Atria's other production plants, and
pension arrangements have been agreed with 26 employees. The net reduction in   
personnel is approximately 170. The measures with personnel effects will be     
implemented by the end of the year. The negotiations reached an agreement about 
the protection that will be given to employees in the event of dismissal.
