Microsemi Announces DSCC Qualification of Hermetic Power MOSFETs

IRVINE, Calif., May 28, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), a leading manufacturer of high performance analog/mixed signal integrated circuits and high reliability semiconductors, announced today that the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) has granted qualifications on 15 Microsemi N-Channel and P-Channel hermetic power MOSFETs.

Primarily used in power supplies, power converters, motor controls, and other power switching applications, these products utilize the latest wafer fabrication technologies developed in Microsemi's Garden Grove, CA and Bend, OR facilities.

The DSCC approvals cover JAN, JANTX and JANTXV standards for 100V, 200V, 400V and 500V, N-channel and P-Channel MOSFETs in both leaded and surface mount configurations.

"Qualification of these hermetic MOSFETs is a great addition to our existing high-reliability product line," said Kare Karlsen, Vice President and General Manager of Microsemi's Lawrence, Massachusetts facility. "We see this as a natural progression to broaden our existing commercial MOSFET capabilities to satisfy demands found in the harsh environments of today's military and avionics applications," he said.

The new Microsemi product qualifications include:
