Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) Names Raymond Iannaccone, MD, FACEP as President and CEO of EMA and Affiliates


LIVINGSTON, N.J., May 29, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Emergency Medical Associates (EMA), one of the country's premier, private, democratic emergency physician groups, is pleased to announce, after an intensive internal and external search, that it has named Raymond Iannaccone, MD, FACEP as President and CEO of Emergency Medical Associates and Affiliates.

Raymond Iannaccone, MD, FACEP served as interim President and CEO after the transition of Charles F.V. Grunau, MD, FACEP, who served as President and CEO for EMA and Affiliates for a ten year period. Dr. Iannaccone, who joined EMA in 2003, served as Executive Vice President and as a Board Member from 2003 through 2006. During this time period, he was the Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Hudson Valley Hospital Center and served as Vice President overseeing several New York Emergency Departments.

Dr. Iannaccone received his undergraduate degree from St. John's University, Jamaica, NY and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA and his Emergency Medicine Residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He received specialized training in deep ocean diving, hyperbaric and submarine medicine at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute, Groton, CT. He currently serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Fleet Hospital, Fort Dix, NJ as Commander, Casualty Receiving. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a member of both the New York and New Jersey Chapters of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
