The new book production plant of JSC Preses nams is gradually established, planning to double printing volumes in future

The necessary printing equipment is gradually installed beginning to establish
the new-built book production plant of JSC Ventspils nafta subsidiary JSC
Preses nams, which is located at Jāņsili, Silakrogs at the Ropaži civil parish.
The production area of the plant, which is located in three blocks, reaches
7000 square meters and 13.5 million lats have been invested into the plant. In
future it is planned to increase and possibly even double the book printing
volumes. At present, 250,000-350,000 books per month are printed - this number
will increase up to 500,000-700,000 books per month after a complete
installation of the up-to-date printing equipment in the new plant.

The mentioned increase in printing volumes will be ensured by supplementing the
high-quality equipment used now in production at JSC Preses nams with the newly
purchased up-to-date printing equipment and technologies to print and process
hardbound and soft-cover books. This advanced and currently most powerful
equipment is suitable for production of practically any kind of books in the
highest quality.

prospects for the company. When it will be put in operation, which is planned
in August 2008, the biggest printing company in the Baltic States JSC Preses
nams will become one of the major book-production plants in Northern Europe and
it will also be one of 300 major book production companies worldwide.

in Latvia, there is a company in the JSC Ventspils nafta Group that has been
able to build even two plants at the same time irrespective of different
external circumstances. The book production plant will start working already
this summer, and it is planned to finish construction of the journal production
plant until the end of 2008,” underlines the Chairperson of the Management
Board of JSC Ventspils nafta Olga Pētersone.

Whereas the Executive Director of the Latvian Association of Printing Companies
Ieva Bečere points out that, by opening of the modern book production plant of
JSC Preses nams, the image of the state in printing industry will continue to
improve internationally, proving that there are great production traditions and
up-to-date possibilities in Latvia, as well as technologically highly equipped
companies for realization of these possibilities.

production plant soon and has put intense work in export market research and
