Wavestream Corporation Appoints Blythe Chad Deckman, Ph.D. as Vice President Engineering

Company's Co-Founder Brings More Than 15 Years' Engineering Experience to His New Position

SAN DIMAS, Calif., June 10, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Wavestream Corporation (www.wavestream.com), a manufacturer of compact, highly efficient solid-state power amplifiers, today announced that the company has appointed Blythe Chad Deckman, Ph.D., as vice president engineering. A co-founder of Wavestream, Deckman most recently served as the company's director of research and development since its inception in 2001.

"Chad is the ideal candidate to further our engineering efforts, especially as we develop new products targeted toward the C, Ku and Ka bands," said Francis Auricchio, executive vice president engineering and operations for Wavestream. "As one of Wavestream's co-founders, Chad was responsible for bringing the company's core technology to the point at which commercialization is viable. This accomplishment, coupled with his depth of knowledge and design experience with high-power, high-efficiency Grid Amplifier modules, further boosts Wavestream's management team and leadership position in the industry. We are pleased to have appointed him as vice president engineering and look forward to many more of his accomplishments to further expand Wavestream's product portfolio."

Prior to co-founding Wavestream, Deckman was a hardware design engineer at Agilent, where he was responsible for designing a variety of microwave components. Deckman holds six patents across a variety of technologies and has a patent pending on power management for active loop spatial power combiners. In addition, Deckman's 38 GHz, 5-watt single chip Grid Amplifier holds the record for the highest output power from a single chip at that frequency. He has also authored several papers for industry conferences and trade publications.

Deckman earned his Ph.D., electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and his bachelor's in electrical engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he was the valedictorian, summa cum laude of the university's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
