SALEM, Ore., June 12, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Certain practices in the fields of health and medicine do attract harsh attention from some sectors in society. Just what will it take to bring down this controversial practice? Find out by experiencing a tale of suspense and mystery imagined by author Robert C. Jackson, M.D., with the release of his new book THE CLINIC.

In THE CLINIC readers will meet Kathleen Erickson, a doctor who is dedicated to taking care of young women's concerns on counseling, birth control and therapeutic abortion. Now thirty-eight, she is widowed with two children and has been an active pro-choice obstetrician and gynecologist, which made her a target of criticism and physical attacks. Things turn for the worse one day when she gets sued for malpractice after performing a legal therapeutic abortion. A charge of manslaughter is added when the plaintiff's attorney discovers that all signed permits for the surgery are nowhere to be found. With the odds against her, Kathleen believes that a traitor is at large at the clinic with an ambition to eliminate all abortion clinics through legal means or violence. Will she be able to expose the traitor within? Read the book to find out.
