Company Showcases New HP StorageWorks 8Gb Fibre Channel HBA, 8Gb Fibre Channel Switch

(Nasdaq:QLGC), a leader in networking for storage and high performance computing (HPC), today announced it will showcase several new products based on QLogic technology at the HP Technology Forum & Expo, including the HP StorageWorks 82Q dual port 8Gb Fibre Channel host bus adapter (HBA) and HP StorageWorks 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch. The company will be showing a live technology demonstration of these products, along with a new data migration solution that uses the EVA iSCSI Connectivity Option with integrated multi-protocol support that extends Fibre Channel SAN investments. This allows customers to incorporate iSCSI servers without requiring additional storage arrays or management costs.

Based on the QLogic 2500 Series of 8Gb Fibre Channel-to-PCIe Gen2 HBAs, the HP StorageWorks 82Q dual port 8Gb Fibre Channel HBA is designed for next-generation virtualized data centers with powerful multi-processor, multi-core servers. Data Migration Solution Based on QLogic Intelligent Storage Routers

QLogic will be demonstrating a new data migration solution that uses the HP StorageWorks EVA iSCSI Connectivity Option. This new data migration option provides low-cost, easy-to-use, high performance offline data migration and storage consolidation across all HP and competitors' arrays. This solution helps accelerate array sales by overcoming obstacles related to migration of data from old arrays to new ones. The QLogic data migration solution supports data rates up to 1.0 TB/hr per router, flexible job scheduling and easy re-deployment of the router for iSCSI Connectivity after data migration jobs are completed.
