Msnbc.com Wins "Best Place to Work" Award

Stimulating Work Environment and Great Culture Place Msnbc.com On Seattle Business Monthly's 2008 "Best Places to Work" List

REDMOND, Wash., June 23, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Msnbc.com has been recognized as one of Seattle Business Monthly's Best Places to Work for 2008. Featured in the magazine's June issue, msnbc.com was named as one of the leading employers in the Puget Sound area that offers a unique culture along with the most desirable perks and benefits.

"Msnbc.com has created a fantastic environment where employees are challenged by their work and rewarded for their contributions," said Sheila States, HR Director at msnbc.com. "We're thrilled that the Seattle Business Monthly list acknowledged what we've always known -- that msnbc.com is one of the best places to work."

The companies that made the 2008 list were divided into small, medium, large and non-profit categories. The employers were evaluated by Seattle Business Monthly based on a corporate profile and set of criteria as determined by the magazine. The 54 businesses with the highest overall scores and the best management practices were chosen. Only 18 companies were selected in the midsize category (100-499 employees) in which msnbc.com competed. And msnbc.com was one of only 8 companies, from the complete list of 54 organizations, to be profiled in the magazine ("Hard News, Easy Benefits").

Msnbc.com's unique culture, cool perks and impressive benefits that secured its place on the list include an internal program inviting anyone in the company to develop ideas to grow or improve the business, ergonomic workspaces, and paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave.

Launched in 1996, msnbc.com employs more than 250 people, including a staff of editors, reporters, and a multidisciplinary team of interactive and multimedia producers, around the globe. Charles Tillinghast is the President and Publisher.
