PALATINE, Ill., June 30, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Acura Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq:ACUR) today announced that Russell Investments has selected the Company for inclusion in the Russell 3000(r) Index and the Russell Microcap(r) Index effective June 30, 2008.

The Russell 3000(r) Index measures the performance of the 3,000 largest U.S. companies. The Russell Microcap(r) Index measures the performance of the microcap segment of the U.S. equity market that trade on national exchanges, while excluding OTC bulletin board securities and pink-sheet stocks due to their failure to meet national exchange listing requirements.
