CHICAGO, June 30, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Xstream Mobile Solutions (Pink Sheets:XMSC) is proud to announce the deployment of Xstream SAFE, their flagship Emergency Notification System, at Northern Illinois University (NIU). This affiliation represents the bold first step of Xstream Mobile Solution's emergence into the large university marketplace. Preliminary installation began in May and the system is intended to be tested in late summer with full functionality expected during the fall semester of 2008.

Founded in 1895, Northern Illinois University is a comprehensive teaching and research institution with an enrollment of more than 25,000 students. The university has seven degree-granting colleges offering 55 undergraduate majors and 75 graduate programs, including a law school. The university is located on a 755-acre campus in DeKalb, Ill., 60 miles west of Chicago and operates outreach centers in Naperville, Rockford and Hoffman Estates.

In accordance with their high standards, NIU explored numerous other companies that offered similar services, choosing the reliability and efficiency of Xstream Mobile Solutions, which also includes the close relationships XSM has cultivated over the years, becoming certified with the major wireless companies AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, T-Mobile and Sprint-Nextel, the backbone of emergency text messaging for cell phones.
