- Century Aluminum Company Names Catherine Z. Manning to Board of Directors

MONTEREY, CA--(Marketwire - July 01, 2008) - Century Aluminum Company (NASDAQ:
CENX) announced today that Catherine Z. Manning has joined the company's board
of directors. 

Ms. Manning retired on June 30, 2008 as a partner with the accounting firm
PricewaterhouseCoopers. She most recently served as the financial effectiveness
and merger integration leader for the Atlanta Advisory practice. Manning has
over 30 years of experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers, including 23 years as
an auditor and nine years as an advisor to chief financial officers.
