NCC to construct treatment plant for Stockholm Vatten

NCC to construct treatment plant for Stockholm Vatten

NCC Construction Sweden has been commissioned to conduct blasting works and to
construct a wastewater-treatment plant at Henriksdal, Stockholm. The client is
Stockholm Vatten and the order is worth approximately SEK 170 million.

The assignment comprises the blasting of tunnels and rock caverns at
Henriksdalsberget, which will then be used to construct a new plant for the
basic treatment of wastewater, plus a recipient for organic materials. It also
includes the need for NCC to coordinate all installation contracts in the
project.

The currently existing treatment plant has to be relocated to enable
construction of the “Danvikslösen” traffic solution, which includes the need to
direct the Värmdöleden highway through the rock at Henriksdalsberget and to
extend the light-railway service to Slussen.

- We are delighted to have been commissioned for such a large-scale project as
this. The assignment entails that all civil engineering disciplines and works be
performed in surroundings where ordinary operations will continue to be
conducted, says Göran Ajling, Business Manager at NCC Construction's
Stockholm/Mälardalen region.

Work will commence in August 2008 and is scheduled for completion in May 2011.
In total, 25-30 people will be engaged in the project.

The contract will be registered among orders during the third quarter of 2008.
