Welwind Energy International Corp. Announces Meeting With Zhanjiang Government

SAN DIEGO, July 8, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Welwind Energy International Corp. (the "Company") (OTCBB:WWEI) announces company officials will be going to the Peace River site early next week to complete a survey and begin the process of installing two met towers.

Welwind is very pleased to announce that services of one of Canada's Premier tower installation companies, Metlogics Consulting Inc., have been secured to install meteorological towers in the Peace River Region. "We are excited to be a part of the installation of meteorological towers in this area for Welwind. From our extensive experience we have determined this to be one of the most exciting areas for wind exploration in Western Canada," says Corey Landon, owner of Metlogics.

Within 11 km of Welwind's proposed project site, another wind company has received a 20-year fixed price PPA with BC Hydro for a 144 MW wind farm project. This is monumental for Welwind as the market is now clearly established in the Peace Region Area.

Zhanjiang update -- Next week, company officials will be going to Zhanjiang to approve the layout of Phase I of the wind farm in order to start construction of the trunk roads, foundations and collector system. The project will require the installation of more met towers to accommodate the expansion of the project beyond 49 MW. Welwind officials will be meeting with Government officials to finalize the PPA next week.
