JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra July 22, 2008 JSC "Valmieras stikla šķiedra" has stopped its electricity supply from JSC "Latvenergo” and receives all its electricity from Estonian company "Eesti Energia" since July 1st. Co-operation with “Latvenergo" was discontinued because "Eesti Energia" offered lower eletricity prices than "Latvenergo". An agreement for one year was signed as a first step. Should co-opeartion with the Estonian supplier turn out sucessful, JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra will consider entering into a longer-term contract with a fixed price for three years. As of April 1st, 2008 "Latvenergo" enforced new eletricity tariffs, resulting in a yet another 43% higher price for electricity for JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra”.
