Wireless Ronin Names Former Target Retail Executive Stephen Birke to Board of Directors


MINNEAPOLIS, July 31, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Wireless Ronin Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:RNIN), a Minneapolis-based worldwide digital signage provider, today announced that it has appointed Stephen Birke, former Target vice president and general merchandise manager, to its board of directors.

Mr. Birke, (54), served 38 years at Target, an upscale discounter that provides high-quality, trend right merchandise at attractive prices to consumers, where his positions ranged from buyer to divisional merchandising manager up to vice president and general merchandise manager.

Mr. Birke played a key role in defining Target's merchandising platform as it has grown to 1,613 stores in 47 states including 218 SuperTarget locations. In addition to his extensive retailing experience, he has served on the board of the International Housewares Association and is serving on the board of the Bell Museum - University of Minnesota and St Therese Catholic Church.
