Secrets From the Past -- New Novel is An Exciting Tale About Mysterious Secrets -- and How They Affect Those in the Present

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla., July 31, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- We all love a good mystery tale. Combine it with action, intriguing historical secrets and a dash of romance, and you have the makings of a bestseller. Shirley M. Knappe weaves all these elements and more in her novel The Ghosts of Four Chimneys -- and comes up with gold.

The story begins when Captain Jason Lord is kidnapped and accused of endangering finances of Lord College. His daughter Hannah resolves to restore his good name. But because of his OSS activities in WWII, agents from three countries are pursuing her father. Meanwhile, an earthquake uncovers ancient bones at Four Chimneys, the Lord estate. They may belong to Iroquois Indians, escaping slaves, or Viking explorers, all of whom had ties to the site. Their ghosts haunt Hannah, and their descendants claim the bones and the land. And someone wants to destroy documents hidden in Four Chimneys.

As Hannah struggles against political forces churning in the Sixties, she also has to contend with a turbulent love life. Adam Tom, Hannah's mentor, tries to protect her, a CIA agent falls in love with her, and her first love wants her back.
