PricewaterhouseCoopers and Stratify Establish Joint Business Relationship to Enhance Forensic Investigations With Advanced eDiscovery

PwC Enhances Its Global Forensic Investigations Expertise by Adding Advanced eDiscovery Capabilities of the Stratify Legal Discovery Service

NEW YORK and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 4, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) and Stratify, Inc., a subsidiary of Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE:IRM), the global leader in information protection and storage services, today announced a joint business relationship that will enable PwC to provide the Stratify Legal Discovery(tm) service to PwC Advisory clients nationally in support of investigations, regulatory matters and litigation.

The Stratify Legal Discovery service enables PwC professionals to help clients respond to planned and unplanned events such as conducting corporate investigations, efficiently responding to litigation, and developing remediation programs and approaches using Stratify's advanced eDiscovery technology while minimizing their risk and reducing the costs of eDiscovery. Prior to establishing a joint business relationship, PwC conducted an in-depth assessment of the eDiscovery market, during which it tested Stratify's technology and utilized its capabilities on several client matters.

"As today's world grows increasingly more interconnected, organizations are facing increased challenges associated with various risks. PwC's unmatched global business, computer forensic, and investigation experience combined with the intuitive user interface, multi-language capabilities and leading brand reputation that Stratify delivers in the eDiscovery marketplace will enable us to help our clients conduct more efficient and effective investigations at a lower cost," said Dave Burg, PricewaterhouseCoopers' U.S. Forensic Technology leader.

"The PwC-Stratify joint business relationship establishes a new standard in eDiscovery," said Ramana Venkata, Senior Vice President at Iron Mountain and Stratify's General Manager. "PwC's expert forensic analysis capabilities combined with Stratify's intuitive, high-productivity applications for review and analysis can best help organizations prepare for and manage the complexities of even the most sophisticated eDiscovery matters. Together we can meet client demands for the optimal combination of forensic and investigations expertise with the most intuitive and full-featured eDiscovery solution that reduces the costs, risks and complexities inherent in discovery and compliance."

PwC's Forensic Technology Services provide solutions to clients involved in regulatory or other investigations, litigation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution forums. PwC's technologists work with a wide range of subject matter and industry specialists, including accountants and finance professionals, to provide unique approaches to complex business matters. Bringing together data analysis techniques with proprietary technologies, and by using a variety of advanced investigative techniques, they help assess the enterprise, then identify, preserve, and analyze information located on myriad storage platforms.

Stratify is a global eDiscovery leader with more than 400 completed matters and in excess of 200 matters under active project management. The company has partnered with 90% of the AmLaw 50 firms and many of the Fortune 500 corporations to enable accurate and rapid review and analysis of large data collections in connection with complex litigation, internal and external investigations and government approvals of proposed M&A transactions. Stratify combines unparalleled data processing and analytical software along with a deep bench of former AmLaw 100 litigators, project managers and engineers to offer market leading legal technology and professional service delivery.

"Over the years, PwC consistently has been the go-to firm for expert consulting and testimony in complex securities, litigations and other legal matters," said Stephen Whetstone, Stratify's Vice President of Client Development & Strategy and a former litigation partner at Testa Hurwitz and litigator at Skadden. "This joint business relationship further validates Stratify's leadership position in the eDiscovery space and underscores that the paradigm shift away from traditional linear and keyword review to advanced discovery methods is well underway."

"The PwC-Stratify joint business relationship is an exciting new development that should have a significant impact on the eDiscovery market," says Vivian Tero, Program Manager, Compliance Infrastructure at IDC. "With the consulting skills and global reach of PwC and Stratify's advanced eDiscovery solution capabilities, the joint business relationship should substantially alter the traditional consultant-review platform landscape by bridging the gap between litigation readiness, data collection, and forensics with eDiscovery review, analysis, and production, providing an integrated solution to corporations and their law firms around the world."
