WSFS Bank Recognized in 2008 'Best in the Business' List for Third Year in a Row

WILMINGTON, Del., Aug. 4, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- WSFS Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:WSFS), the parent company of WSFS Bank, announced today that WSFS was named one of the 2008 "Best in the Business" companies in the Wilmington News Journal's annual list.

WSFS Bank is honored to be recognized high on the list of Delaware's leading workplaces for the third consecutive year. This is the News Journal's ninth year of analyzing Delaware's business community through its "Best in the Business" supplement. WSFS was ranked 4th overall out of 31 in the large companies category and its engaged management style was singled out for a special award. The 31 participating large companies (500 + employees) were judged in the categories of engagement, direction, managers, execution, career, conditions, and pay and benefits based off of employee surveys.

Mark Turner, WSFS President and CEO, remarked, "WSFS is committed to being an outstanding company in all respects. Our strategy calls us to cultivate engaged Associates who deliver Stellar Service to create customer advocates. Therefore, the starting point for us is creating an environment where Associates love to come to work."

An independent research firm, who collected the results, administered the survey. In years past, WSFS won "Best Place to Work" and "Community Involvement" in the banking and finance category.

WSFS Bank is proud to be recognized as one of the best in the business and adds this to one of many recent accolades that have brought recognition to WSFS and its Associates, including being named a Top 25 Performer for 2007 in terms of return on equity among all banks with greater than $3 billion in assets.
