July 31st, 2008 the following notification from HBOS plc, Edinburgh, United
Kingdom in the name and on behalf of its subsidiary CMI Asset Management
(Luxembourg) S.A., Strassen, Luxembourg:

On behalf of CMI Asset Management (Luxembourg) S.A., Strassen, Luxembourg
we announce pursuant to § 21 para. 1a WpHG that on 17 April 2008 of CMI
Asset Management (Luxembourg) S.A. held 3.064% of the voting rights (i.e.
105,724 shares with voting rights) in Roth & Rau AG, Hohenstein-Ernstthal,
Germany.

CMI Asset Management (Luxembourg) S.A., was attributed these 3.064% of the
voting rights (i.e. 105,724 shares with voting rights) in Roth & Rau AG
pursuant to § 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 WpHG.
