LANDOVER, Md., Aug. 7, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The Prince George's Community Foundation, a regional affiliate of The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, announced today that The Partnership for Prince George's County will award a total of $149,335 in first-ever grants to 10 nonprofit organizations serving the residents of Prince George's County, MD.
The 10 grants are designed to help these organizations strengthen their internal operations in the areas of finance/accounting, strategic planning, human resources, marketing, and fundraising. Recipient organizations work in the areas of the arts, emergency services, and youth development, among others.
Spearheaded by The Prince George's Community Foundation, The Partnership for Prince George's County is a growing coalition of more than 10 private and corporate funders in the Washington metropolitan area who pool their resources to maximize philanthropic investment in effective nonprofits based in the county. Over time, Partnership grants seek to effect systems change within Prince George's County and strengthen the county's nonprofit sector as a whole.
