Digia integrates TD-SCDMA to Nokia S60 platform Digia Plc has integrated TD-SCDMA to Nokia S60 platform. TD-SCDMA, also known as Chinese 3G, is integrated for the first time to S60 using Digia Telephony solution earlier created for GSM and WCDMA. The new solution allows creation of 3G S60 phones for the rapidly growing Chinese market. Digia is the first company to successfully demonstrate use of TD-SCDMA network with Nokia S60 platform. The solution was demonstrated in Beijing, China using TD-SCDMA/EDGE modem by ST-NXP Wireless and T3G Technologies as well as China Mobile's TD-SCDMA 3G network. The number of TD-SCDMA devices will grow rapidly in China similarly as has already happened with WCDMA 3G devices in Europe.
