What: Novak Djokovic and Jane Brown Grimes, Chairman of the Board and President of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) will preside over the Opening Bell to celebrate the 2008 US Open and the 40th anniversary of the Open Era. Opening Night on August 25 will launch the celebration with an on-court ceremony highlighting the 40 US Open singles champions since 1968. Throughout the tournament, the US Open will feature additional celebrations and special tributes to past champions. Novak Djokovic captured a bronze medal in men's singles at the Olympics in Beijing last week. Djokovic, the reigning Australian Open men's singles champion, finished runner-up to Roger Federer at last year's US Open.
